August Advocacy Training: How to Secure a Meeting with Your Member of Congress

Join Bread for the World organizers and advocates to learn best practices for securing your member of Congress as a cosponsor on the MODERN WIC Act. As advocates, we have the goal of moving our decision-makers to take action to address food insecurity. With this goal, a main ask of our in-district meetings this year will be requesting cosponsors of the MODERN WIC Act, and it is a request that can also be made outside of a meeting through emails and calls with the office. Come to learn how to research your legislator, how to learn more about WIC both nationally and locally, and how to frame the conversation based on your legislator’s political priorities. 45 minutes.
