Hunger is No Game: Farm to Food Bank to Fork on Zoom

Facilitated & Sponsored by the Hunger Action Ministry at Franciscan Renewal Center (La Casa).

Nearly one in three (32%) of Arizona households have experienced food insecurity since COVID-19. One in four Arizona families struggle to put nutritious food on the table. (ASU News, Dec. 1, 2020).

Wanting to serve their communities by providing freshly grown and healthy food, etc., local farmers expand the availability of fresh produce at food banks and then at families' dinner tables.

This virtual event includes: Short films produced by Local First Arizona Good Film Series featuring small farmers in Maricopa County and how these small farms support AZ Food Banks' increasing need for fresh and nutritious food. Angie Rodgers, President and CEO of Arizona Food Bank Network, will lead our conversation and include highlights of the Friends of the Farm program which is a winning approach to reach hungry Arizonans. Additional guest speakers (may) include representatives from the Good Film Series or Pinnacle Prevention.
