About this Event

Join Spirit in the Desert for a Contemplative Prayer Vigil on the Hours to pray for our leaders on Inauguration Day. Each half-hour segment will feature a litany and prayers with plenty of room for silent prayer and reflection. Gather in a safe space online to pray for peace, for justice, for a restoration of unity in our nation, and for the people. The final segment encourages participation: light a candle in your space and state the name(s) of someone to pray for (can be any reason -- political, professional, personal) and the assembly online will pray for this person.

Wednesday, January 20, all times are AZ (MST)

  • 8:00a - 8:30a ~ Prayer for Peace

  • 11:00a - 11:30a ~ Prayer for Justice

  • 2:00p - 2:30p ~ Prayer for Restoration

  • 5:00p - 5:30p ~ Prayer for the People

Half-hour segments are facilitated by Rev. Jim Hanson, Rev. Deborah K. Hutterer, Rev. Steve Holm and Sheri Brown.

President-elect's Biden's swearing-in is scheduled for 5:30 EST, 3:30 MST.

Join for one, two, three, or all four sessions. You need to register for one segment only; the same Zoom link applies to all four segments. Register below…
