Over the past few months, prayer and offers of support have poured in for our Afghan neighbors following the end of the long U.S. war in Afghanistan.
Hear from leaders in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, and the broader Lutheran community with a policy update about resettlement of Afghan arrivals, ongoing realities, and current needs. “We stand in solidarity with all those living in fear,” said Presiding Bishop Eaton of support for our Afghan neighbors, and we need to be there for “the long welcome for these families.” This webinar will share information and avenues for action.
On the ELCA Advocacy Blog, find direct involvement opportunities information, Lutheran Disaster Response reports, and more in: “Welcome of Afghan Neighbors,” at https://blogs.elca.org/advocacy/welcome-of-afghan-newcomers/.
Opportunity for questions at the end.
