Act now: Farm Bill expires September 30!

Urge Your Members of Congress to Pass a Short-term Farm Bill Extension

The farm bill, our nation’s most important anti-hunger legislation, must be reauthorized every five years. Unfortunately, it is unlikely Congress will pass a new farm bill before the current one expires on September 30.

From our partners at Bread for the World: Please act now and urge your members of Congress to pass a short-term extension of the farm bill by September 30 and a new farm bill before the end of the year.

The need for a new farm bill has never been more urgent as food insecurity in the U.S. continues to rise and the world faces multiple, ongoing hunger and famine crises.

Passage of a short-term extension will give lawmakers more time to negotiate a new farm bill that protects and strengthens vital domestic and international nutrition programs like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Food for Peace.

Again, please urge your members of Congress to pass a short-term extension of the farm bill by September 30 and a new farm bill before the end of the year.
