Action Alert: Help a child feel ready for school
Action Alert from our partners at Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest
Think back to your first day of school. Maybe you had a new backpack, a fresh notebook, or a favorite pencil that made you feel ready for the new school year.
Now imagine showing up without any of that.
For many of the families we serve, school supplies are simply out of reach. Refugee families starting over with nothing, grandparents raising their grandkids stretching every dollar, children in foster care who are moving from place to place with little they can call their own. But you can change that.
Right now, we are gathering supplies for our Back-to-School Drive. When you give a backpack filled with supplies, you're giving a student the chance to walk into class feeling proud, prepared, and like someone out there believes in them.
There are a few easy ways to help:
Shop from our Amazon Wishlist
Make a financial gift so we can purchase the most needed supplies
Organize a donation drive through your community or church group
Drop off supplies at LSS-SW Phoenix Office (2502 E. University Drive, Suite 125, Phoenix, AZ 85034) or Tucson Office (3777 E. Broadway Blvd., Suite 100, Tucson, AZ 85716)
To help LSS-SW deliver supplies before the first day of school,
please try to give by July 21.
Thank you! With your help, a student will walk into their classroom with a full backpack and the confidence to thrive! We are so grateful for your compassion and your willingness to show up for those who need it most.
