Friday is Hunger Action Day

Wear orange on Hunger Action Day, also known as Orange Day, on Friday, September 5. Take a photo and tag @azfoodbanks in your posts!

Arizona is the third highest producer of fruit and vegetables in the country – producing 12% of the nation’s fruits and vegetables – yet one in every seven Arizonans struggles with food insecurity, which is the occasional or constant lack of access to food.

1 in 7 Arizonans are estimated to be food insecure. That is nearly 1,067,120 people, and 291,290 are children.

In September, we come together to rally around food banks, support awareness around hunger and instill action among our advocates, legislators, anti-hunger friends, and YOU! Because together, we can end hunger.

5 Ways you can make a difference

  1. Wear orange with us on Hunger Action Day on Friday, September 5. Take a photo and tag @azfoodbanks in your posts!

  2. Donate to Arizona Food Bank Network or ELCA World Hunger.

  3. Volunteer at one of Arizona’s member food banks.

  4. Join the conversation by sharing our social media posts or sharing your stories with the hashtag #HungerActionMonth

  5. Write to elected officials.

Which one of the ways will you be fighting hunger this month?
