LAMA Policy Committee welcomes Peter Faur!

Peter Faur joins the LAMA Policy Council, accepting the call to serve a three-year term on the board.

Peter is a lifelong Lutheran. He and his wife, Pat, belong to La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church in Phoenix.

He graduated from Concordia University Chicago with a major in education and a double minor in theology and psychology. He holds a master’s degree in journalism from Kansas State University and a master’s in business administration from Fontbonne University in St. Louis.

Peter worked for five years at the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, where he served as religion editor before transitioning into editing. Most of his career was spent in public relations. He worked for numerous employers and clients, including Southwestern Bell Corporation, Anheuser-Busch, Mallinckrodt Chemical, and Olin Corporation. In 2002, he moved to Phoenix to become vice president of corporate communications for Phelps Dodge Corporation.

From 2006 to 2020, he served on the board of the Phoenix Zoo, which he chaired from 2012 to 2014. Zoos play a vital role in the survival of endangered species, he says, and in inspiring people worldwide to care about the destiny of animals and the natural world.

His novel, Red Metal, is available on Amazon. A second novel, The Heretic Hunters, will be available in the fall of 2025.

In retirement, Peter has become more involved in advocating for social justice and protecting human rights and the rule of law.

Please join LAMA in welcoming Peter to the Policy Council and encourage him through prayer and accompaniment in this important work.
