LAMA Policy Committee welcomes Rev. Jarrod Iversen

Reverend Jarrod Iversen joins the LAMA Policy Council, accepting the call to serve a three-year term on the board, representing central Arizona.

Pastor Jarrod is originally from rural Minnesota and grew up in the Lutheran Church. He graduated from Moorhead State University with a B.A. in Theatre Arts. Iversen spent most of his adult life in Los Angeles, working as an agent in the entertainment industry. He and his husband moved to Arizona City in 2012. In June of 2025, he was ordained after completing the TEEM program and was called by Central Lutheran.

Pastor Jarrod has been a longtime advocate of minority rights, especially in LGBTQIA2S+ rights. While in the TEEM program Pastor Jarrod also completed a program in Religious Trauma Studies and leads the Grand Canyon Synod-sponsored LGBTQIA2S+ ministry, Fiercely & Wonderfully Made, helping to reconcile and heal wounds of the past. He also serves, as the need arises and directed by Bishop Hutterer’s office, as a touchpoint between ELCA congregations elsewhere in the

country that have congregants in the Eloy Detention and ICE Detention Facilities.

Pastor Jarrod is honored to be asked to join the board of LAMA and thanks its members for asking. He would also like to ask each of you to join him in praying: “God, grant us open hearts, open ears, open eyes and good strong coffee as we listen and learn to love each other, Amen.”

Please join LAMA in welcoming Pastor Jarrod to the Policy Council and encourage him through prayer and accompaniment in this important work.
