Urge Congress: Extend the Child Tax Credit

Build Support for Provisions that End Hunger

From Bread for the World:

Food insecurity and poverty continue to affect families in the U.S. with young children who are the most vulnerable to hunger. A way to ensure children have the food they need to survive and thrive is to extend the expansion of the Child Tax Credit (CTC).

The CTC monthly payments will end in December if Congress doesn’t act. Urge Congress to extend the expansion of the CTC today!

The CTC expansion is a critical investment in our nation’s children because it has the potential to reduce hunger and poverty and advance racial equity. Black, Latino, Native American, and other children of color are disproportionately represented among children living in hunger and poverty.

In the five months since households started to receive CTC payments, severe food insecurity among eligible families has dropped by almost 30 percent.

As Christians, God calls us to help the most vulnerable (Psalm 82:3). Please act today to make a difference in the lives of children affected by hunger.
