Caring for Our Sonoran Eden: Living Faithfully in the Climate Emergency

EB Sonoran.png

On September 9, 2020, the Tucson City Council joined over 1,780 jurisdictions around the globe in declaring a Climate Emergency.

Tucson's declaration refers to the "full participation" of faith communities as "integral to ... climate emergency response and mobilization efforts."

Members and leaders of faith communities who agree with that assessment are invited to an evening of information, reflection, and engagement on answering one of the great calls of our time.

The aims of Caring for Our Sonoran Eden: Living Faithfully in the Climate Emergency are:

  • To build congregations informed and motivated to rapidly reduce carbon emissions.

  • To build mutual support among faith communities for cooperative efforts.

  • To develop a clear voice of faith to support climate change mitigation efforts in our region.

As preparation for Caring for Our Sonoran Eden, you are also encouraged to attend Sustainable Tucson’s October 13th virtual meeting on the Climate Emergency declaration.
