SNAP experienced significant changes during the debt limit negotiations, including an expansion of work requirements to ages 50-54. Whether Congress will continue to seek changes to SNAP work requirements in the upcoming Farm Bill reauthorization is still in question. Now more than ever, it is important for our coalitions partners to understand SNAP work requirements and time limits.
Please join us as Dr. Joel Cuffey and Dr. Kara Newby from Auburn University give an in-depth presentation on "Demystifying Work Requirements in SNAP." This hour-long webinar will discuss relevant research and information on the nuances of work requirements and time limits, the impact of work requirements on program and workforce participation, and how work requirements may exacerbate hunger disparities and cause additional harm to older Americans. Through this webinar, we anticipate participants will better understand the intricacies of SNAP work requirements and how they may perpetuate nutrition insecurity and inequity in vulnerable SNAP recipients.
Following the meeting, we will be sharing additional tools for messaging on SNAP work requirements and time limits. Please share this webinar with your networks. We hope to see you there!
Please join the Alliance to End Hunger on Wednesday, July 19, 3-4pm ET for a discussion on work requirements in SNAP.
