World Refugee Virtual Advocacy Day

Raise your voice with immigrants and refugees.

Register today for World Refugee Day virtual advocacy! This is a critical year for influencing immigration policies. As advocates, we must ensure that our country’s immigration policies honors God’s love for all people and the dignity of each person. This Day seeks to uphold the legacy of compassion which has made a difference in the lives of thousands of people who have found safety and hope in America’s communities. As we reflect and celebrate the contributions of refugees, we must also inform our legislators of the unique challenges refugees still confront.

Join LIRS’s Virtual Advocacy Day on June 22, 2021, in honor of World Refugee Day, to tell your legislators that we want to see meaningful legislation passed that strengthens our country’s commitment to welcome and protection for those fleeing violence and persecution. This year’s event will be virtual and include trainings with LIRS policy staff and participants from each state. Legislative meetings with elected officials or their staff will be scheduled by LIRS staff and conducted by video or call-in format.

Register today! Refugees, immigrants, Lutheran faith leaders, and staff from LIRS partner organizations are invited to join this event.

Upon registration you will receive updates through email. If you have any questions, please contact Diana Guelespe, LIRS Refugee Advocacy Officer, at dguelespe@lirs.org.
