Christmas Blessings!
Merry Christmas!
Dear friends,
As we celebrate the birth of Christ, we remember the mystery at the heart of Christmas: God choosing to enter the world in humility, vulnerability, and deep love. In the Christ child, we see God drawing near—not from a distance, but fully present in human struggle and human hope. This holy season invites us to pause and recognize where Christ continues to be born among us today: in communities seeking justice, in neighbors longing for dignity, and in faithful people committed to love made visible through action.
The Christmas story reminds us that God’s work in the world often begins in unlikely places and through ordinary people who say “Yes!” to love. As LAMA continues its calling to serve God through this publicly engaged church, we are reminded that advocacy, accompaniment, and compassionate witness are expressions of the incarnate Christ alive in our shared life. The work of justice is never separate from faith—it is faith lived out, trusting that God is already at work, inviting us to join in building communities marked by mercy, welcome, and peace.
At this time of year, the LAMA Policy Committee and I give heartfelt thanks for all who have supported LAMA’s mission throughout this year past. We are deeply grateful for our congregations, partners, volunteers, advocates, donors, and leaders who have given their time, resources, prayers, and voices in service of the Gospel. Your faithfulness sustains this ministry and strengthens our shared witness. Together, you make it possible for LAMA to stand with the vulnerable, speak for justice, and reflect Christ’s love in public life across Arizona.
May the peace of Christ fill your hearts and homes this Christmas season. May you find rest and renewal in God’s promises, courage for the work ahead, and joy in knowing that love has the final word. As the light of Christ shines in the darkness, may it guide and bless you in all you do. And may the blessing of God—Father, ☩ Son, and Holy Spirit—be with you now and always. Amen.
In peace and love,
Solveig Muus
