RFSI Grants Now Open

The Arizona Department of Agriculture (AZDA) was recently awarded funding from USDA AMS through the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) Program. Through this program, approximately $3.2 million will be available for grants to support the development of the middle-of-the-supply chain (after foods have been harvested and before they reach consumers) for Arizona-based food and farm businesses.

These funds support expanding capacity for the aggregation, processing, manufacturing, storing, transporting, wholesaling, and distribution of local food products including specialty crops, dairy, grains for human consumption, aquaculture, and other food products.

The grant cycle for this year is now open! Applications will be accepted from Dec 11, 2023, until March 1, 2024.

We encourage you to share the information about this grant with your friends and congregations! Many small buisness owners and local food producers, including our community gardens, can benefit from the support that the AZDA is providing. If you have more questions, please reach out to our partners at Pinnacle Prevention.
