ELCA Presence in Far-Reaching Efforts of COP28

Right now, the UN Conference of Parties is meeting in Dubai for the 28th Conference of Parties (COP28). The conference on climate change is the world’s only multilateral decision making forum on climate issues, and this year, the ELCA has sent six representatives to contribute to the dialogue with various world leaders on earth’s climate crisis.

Our ELCA advocates seek to represent the voices of people of faith as leaders devise strategies to tackle the crisis. As Christians, we are called to faithfully steward Creation, and our efforts in the areas of hunger, immigration, and disaster relief, as well as our commitment to our Indigenous neighbors, are all connected to climate policy.
