Food Day at the Capitol
Arizona Food Bank Network (AzFBN) and its member food banks hosted Food Bank Day at the Capitol on Thursday, March 10. Two initiatives took center stage: HB2060, the bill AzFBN and supporters promoted to remove barriers to SNAP access for people re-entering society; and Friends of the Farm, Arizona's farm-to-food-bank program supporting local growers and food insecure Arizonans.
First AZ voting bill of 2022 reaches governor’s desk
Arizona lawmakers sent Gov. Doug Ducey an election bill on March 28 that “likely presents a preemption issue… as well as a conflict with fairly recent U.S. Supreme Court case law,” according to the Legislature’s own constitutional attorneys.

HB2060 Passes Arizona House of Representatives Unamended
Great news! HB2060 passed the Arizona House of Representatives—unamended—on Thursday! The vote was 44-15. Now on to the Senate, where it faces a more challenging road.
